No longer there my sweet bitter friend,
through life's storms and rocky valley wend,
To hear you, when in dark pain you call
And to love and comfort when you fall.
No longer there.
To hold your warm body close and tight,
And to love you gently in the night,
Feeling your heart beat so close to mine
And to tell you, 'my true love is thine.'
No longer there.
I held you tightly close when you sighed,
On the sad and lonely night you died,
Goodbye my dearest and darling love.
As you join God's Angels up above.
No longer here.
