Deliverance
I want to touch the face of God
and tell him of my fears.
Through black of night and serpents rod,
my heart, my soul, my tears.
A dream that slips beyond my grasp
and spirals to the ground.
As audible, this demons gasp,
without a mortal sound.
Metastasized within my flesh,
the sadness in my blood.
My thoughts are covered with a mesh
of agony and mud.
Its getting hard to want to hope
that I retain a gift.
And daily doubt secured with rope
has now begun to shift.
Consider my pathetic plea-
my will is all but gone.
Place promise back inside of me
so I can carry on.
I want to touch the face of God
and tell him of my fears.
Through black of night and serpents rod,
my heart, my soul, my tears.
A dream that slips beyond my grasp
and spirals to the ground.
As audible, this demons gasp,
without a mortal sound.
Metastasized within my flesh,
the sadness in my blood.
My thoughts are covered with a mesh
of agony and mud.
Its getting hard to want to hope
that I retain a gift.
And daily doubt secured with rope
has now begun to shift.
Consider my pathetic plea-
my will is all but gone.
Place promise back inside of me
so I can carry on.
