Lady Arwen Protests.
The Lady Arwens not amused
in fact shes rather cross with me
She says she feels she is ill used
she does not like the poetry
That I have been writing of late
She would prefer that I should write
poems she can appreciate
with themes all sweetness and light
She tells me shes dissatisfied
and bids me I must change my ways.
She used to speak of me with pride
to other muses. But these days
she has to hang her head inn shame
When dining out with all her friends
and dreads the mention of my name.
She says unless I make amends
and write of love in perfect form.
her contract she will not renew.
So I have promised to reform,
to lose my muse would never do.
She does not mind me trying out.
New forms I have not tried before
but free verse makes he scream and shout.
I must not write it anymore.
and like a schoolboy for his sins.
I have been scolded thoroughly.
She now displays contented grins
she thinks that she can control me.
When she is out, in on my own
I can write free verse just for fun
If shes not here she cannot moan
at what I have or have not done.
My lady is a classicist
in point of fact she is a snob.
I have to work through Turcos list
It is my self appointed job.
My Lady Arwens very kind
but mainly when she gets her way
Sometimes I do not feel inclined
to let her win and I say nay
But then she weeps as women do
and guilt arises in my mind
Then I decide to give in to
her .Its much easier I find
To let her think she has the right
to dictate what and when I right
I love my Lady Arwen well
but she can make my life pure hell.
