I have been on a tear recently with reading.. in the past several weeks.. I have read the 11th book of the Wheel of Time series, then I read the pre equal to these 11 books, then I read Mistress of the Art of Death, which is like a 12th century CSI. Then I started to go searching.. so I just finished Phantom which is the next to the last book in the Sword of Truth series and now Im reading the 1st book in the War of Souls books called Dragons of a Fallen Sun...today Im going shopping for even more..

so what are you reading?

or plan to read this summer?

Hi Gail, Ive got a lot of books still on my to read list! At the moment ive just finished the first James Bond books by Ian Flemming Casino Royale, Live and Let Die and Moonraker. Ive got half of the book by Al Franken to finish the truth about jokes a political satire.
Books i have on the agenda include the life and death of Jim Morrison, Couple of Friedrich Nietzsches books "beyond good and evil" and i forget the name on the other lol A book by a guy called Turgeneev called fathers and sons, catch 22 by Joseph Heller and a few books of letters by Hunter S. Thompson.

Kewl... I got the whole Sword of Truth series of books on Amazon.. used.. the book "phantom" i spoke of reading.. well I wanted to read all the rest.. seems each book is about 900 pages or more each.. im catching up.. reading The Faith of the FAllen now.. and it almost a 1,000 pages... phewwwww!

But I so love reading..

Been reading a lot of 'Uncle Walt' and Robert Frost...
R.A Salvatore is now my new crack...even though I'm usually not one for fantasy...It's awesome.

well since the 12th of june i have read about 16 or 17 books... i just ordered 5 more..

Currently reading Scramble Eggs & Whiskey by Hayden Carruth .. it's a collection of his poems. Pretty good stuff.

I bought this book called "The Savage Garden" and although its like a mystery, its soooooooooooooo slow... i can read books with 500 - 600 pages in a day and night.. this has less than 300 and I have been struggling with it for several weeksssssssssssssss.. driving me nuts.. but I must find out all the secrets....!!!

I come and go in reading. Sometimes... nothing at all, then I wish to drench myself with everything.
Am immersed right now with several; The Politically Incorrect Guide To English and American Literature,
The Snows of Kilimanjaro, Hemingway on Writing, Heart of Darkness, The Secret Lives of Great Artists,
Classical Human Anatomy for Sketching, Collected works of Octavio Paz, W. B. Yeats and Emily Dickenson.
Hmmmmmmmm... indeed! Someone throw me a life preseverer! I hope to finish at least one of them.
Oh! Wait! I DID finish- The Old Man and The Sea (hadn't read that in a while. do novellas count?)

did you see where there were no snows on Kilamanjaro this year? first time in like 1300 years or is it 13,000? Heart of Darkness i know.. Paz and yeats and of course Emily... I finished the 14 or 15 book series of Anita Blake.. then the Devils Due, now reading Hades Project and the Grail with Cotton stone in it.. so many to remember, I have at least 15 books stacked on top of my desk here waiting for my eyes.. love them

!!! No, I didn't see that...... how odd, somehow scary maybe.
love the reading too. at times, when i'm engrossed, i suddenly feel guilty as if i should be doing something other.
but then realize i'm doing it because i love too. it hurts no one. and that is good reason.
but i find too few to discuss with.

me too.. its my escape.. then my curse.. as i try to run and get some me time..and yet im drawn back to the reading.. almost 300 books in the past 18 months... have two piles here on my desk waiting for me to get too.. lol
