For sure, the true essence of Christmas has been obscured by shallow materialism. All too sadly, this has been evident throughout the last thirty years.

But the differences here in England are so noticable. My daughter and I did our last minute shopping in the Northern City of Hull. She was amazed that there were choirs of carollers and brass bands. This just doesn't happen in the desensitised shopping malls of London.

It is not just the 'Lap Top' she will remember this year. She at least now has a notion of how 'we' enjoyed Christmas.

This is a delightful poem that delivers a few home truths. A lovely write.
